Abstract: “Computer image analysis algorithms of the ImageJ software (National Institutes of Health, USA; http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij) have been tailored for subcellular microfluorimetry of the single Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells. The algorithms were used for the quantitative analysis of digital images acquired by wide-field fluorescence microscopy combined with color digital photography aiming to investigate the intracellular distribution of anthracycline anticancer drug doxorubicin and to evaluate viscosity in the vacuoles of t he cells”
