1. CALLUS INDUCTION OF LEAF EXPALNTS OF TALINUM PANICULATUM

Authors: PRIANANGKAI KARUPPIAH , WENG HING THONG

Abstract: Talinum paniculatum is an edible plant with enormous medicinal properties. The main focus of this study was on callus induction due to the natural ability of callus that can regenerate into a new plant. This study was carried out to determine the effects of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid (2,4-D) and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) on callus induction of T. paniculatum from leaf explant. Leaf explants of T. paniculatum were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) media containing 2,4-D at concentrations of 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 mg/L and BAP at concentrations of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 mg/L under single exposure or combined exposure. Explants cultured on medium containing no plant growth regulators (PGR) served as control in this experiment. The effectiveness of PGRs on callus induction of T. paniculatum was determined by recording the callus induction day, percentage of callus induced in all the treatments and morphology of the callus induced. Leaf explants treated with 2,4-D and BAP in

2. SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF EFFECT OF CR3+ CONCENTRATION ON PHYSICAL PROPERTIES AND PYROELECTRIC PROPERTY OF THE PB(ZR0.825TI0.175)O3 CERAMIC SYSTEM

Authors: TUAN NGUYEN DUY ANH

Abstract: In this paper, the effects of Cr3+concentrations on some physical properties and pyroelectric properties of the ceramic system of (1-x)Pb(Zr0.825Ti0.175)O3– xCr2O3, where x = 0; 0.50; 0.75; 1.00; 1.25; 1.50; 2.00% mol have been presented. Experimental results indicated that Cr3+ concentrations are of great effect on the mentioned above physical properties of the ceramics. X-ray diffraction diagrams indicated that exist pure perovskite phases with rhombohedral structure in all of ceramic compositions of the system. From SEM images we can see that rhombohedral grains of 2 m size closely arranged with small pores. Besides, ceramic densities, dielectric constants, dielectric loss factor are presented with respective values of  = 7.48 g/cm3, e/e0 = 343, tan= 0.03 for the optimal Cr2O3 concentration of 1.25% mol. Cr3+ concentrations are of very strong effect on structure, microstructure and electric property of the studied system. The electric conductivity are of very small values  = 2.9

3. BENEFITS OF USING BIOGAS TECHNOLOGY IN AGRICULTURAL AREA IN SUPPORTING ORGANIC FERTILIZER FOR LOCAL FARMERS IN KARO DISTRICT, NORTH SUMATERA PROVINCE, INDONESIA

Authors: ABDUL RAUF , NURZAINAH GINTING

Abstract: This study has been conducted in an agricultural hilly area of Karo District, in North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The study was conducted in May until July 2016. The objective of this study is to analyse slurry characteristics as organic fertilizer in which biogas is used to yield better slurries. Five biodigesters were used with 5 differents designs of mix materials: T1) 100% cow feces, T2) 75% cow feces + 25% argicultural waste, T3)50% cow feces + 50% agricultural waste, T4) 25% cowfeces + 75% agricultural waste, and T5)100% agricultural waste. The parameters measured were slurry production and slurry chemical compositions including N,P ,K, pH, and C/N.The result showed that T1 and T2 were better in chemical compositions( N,P,K, pH and C/N) while all treatments produce equal volume of slurry. It is suggested that local farmers use the composition of T1 and T2 when using biogas technology in supporting organic fertilizer. It is noteworthy that this first study is continued with the

4. OXIDATION BEHAVIORS OF THE PHOTOVOLTAIC RIBBON IN THE SPENT PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE

Authors: JEI-PIL WANG , SAE-KWON HEO , SEOUNG-SIK JEOUNG

Abstract: The solar cell has been in the spotlight as new renewable energy. Considering its life expectancy, a large quantity of the spent module will be produced after 2020, so many studies are being conducted on the recovery of valuable resources from the spent photovoltaic module. In particular, there are not many studied conducted on the photovoltaic robbin recovered from the spent photovoltaic module. Therefore, in this study, experiments were conducted to verify the oxidation behaviors in the coating layer of the photovoltaic ribbon recovered from the spent photovoltaic module. The oxidation behaviors were observed for 24 hours at the temperature of 100°C, 300°C, 500°C and 700°C using TGA, and the oxide layer formation and the component change in respective sections were analyzed using SEM and EDC according to the holding time of 1hr, 2hrs, 4hrs and 8hrs at the temperature of 500°C showing the most distinctive oxidation behavior.

5. INITIAL STUDY OF THE MUTATION IN EXON 4 OF THE LDLR GENE IN VIETNAMESE PATIENTS WITH FAMILIAL HYPERCHOLESTEROLEMIA

Authors: LAO DUC THUAN , LE HUYEN AI THUY , TRUONG KIM PHUONG

Abstract: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) has been identified as the genetic disorder disease, which is characterized by high total cholesterol, in particularly, the high level of low density lipoprotein (LDL). The normal function of low density lipoprotein receptor is obligate for the normal of lipid profile. The mutation in exon 4 of LDLR gene has been identified to be responsible to FH. In current study, the PCR sequencing method was applied to analyze the mutation of exon 4 of LDLR gene of forty clinical samples, which were diagnosed with FH. As the results, 29 samples of 40 samples, counting for 72.5%. Notably, the genotypes were heterogeneous. In the representative sample DA1, the mutation 355del and c.379G>T (p.V106F) were found, in which, the mutation c.379G>T (p.V106F) has not been previously reported previously. In conclusion, this study being the first comprehensive mutation analysis of the LDLR causing FH in our country. Additionally, mutations identification in exon 4 of LDLR gene

6. A NEW APPROACH TO URBAN TRANSSHIPMENT PROBLEM USING ELECTRICAL TRUCKS

Authors: LEVENT AKSOY

Abstract: As the urbanization rate increases every day, city logistics become more and more important. Electric vehicles are both environmentally friendly and also less costly alternative to internal combustion engine vehicles. However, decision methods employed by businesses are not useful to evaluate these systems. We propose a new model that helps businesses to evaluate the contribution of electric vehicles in city logistics.
