1. THE ROLE OF EMERGING ORGANIZATION CAPABILITIES ON FIRM PERFORMANCE IN DIGITAL ERA AND THE MODERATING EFFECT OF INDUSTRY TYPE : DYNAMIC CAPABILITIES APPROACH

Abstract: Digital era has changed the behaviours of the customers and consequently affect how the companies do business and perform. To maintain performance, firms must adapt and transform to cope with changing environments. By using dynamic capabilities approach, this study aims to develop a framework to investigate the role of emerging organizational capabilities on firm performance in digital era. The framework covers 4 subconstructs of emerging organizational capabilities : digital leadership, agility and responsiveness, customer experience management and personalization, and digital innovation. This study also examine the relationship between organizational capabilities and performance in digital context with indystry type has a moderating factor. Finally, we conclude our managerial implications of this framework.

2. AN ITERATIVE MECAHNISM FOR CAPACITY TRANSFER AMONG M/M/1 QUEUEING SYSTEMS WITH PRIVATE INFORMATION

Abstract: We study mechanism design problem for capacity transfer among M/M/1 queueing systems with private information. We propose an iterative mechanism, which is shown to simultaneously satisfy strategy-proofness, budget balance, individual rationality, and convergence. Finally, we conduct numerical studies to evaluate the performance of the proposed mechanism.

3. WASTA IN THE ARAB WORLD IMPLICATIONS ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SMES

Abstract: Wasta was originally a mediation mechanism in pre-colonial Arab societies which evolved into an intercessory tool to gain favourable access to positions and resources. It is both censured and abetted in present-day Middle Eastern countries like Oman where members struggle to balance Western standards of meritocracy and fair competition with the time-honoured values of solidarity, allegiance and mutual responsibility. Borne of a collectivist society where consultation and reciprocity are prized, the practice poses a challenge to the individualistic ideals of entrepreneurship which drive SMEs, often leading to the subordination of the independent entrepreneurial spirit to the imperatives of family and close relations. 4. EFFECTS OF RISK MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON PROJECT SUCCESS IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OF PAKISTAN

Abstract: This independent study has been conducted to analyse and establish whether any relationship exists between effective risk management practices and project success in the construction industry of Pakistan. The industry under question is marred with inefficiencies both in the public as well as private sector, and success rate of projects are very low. The study aims to investigate, through the use of questionnaires, whether a relationship between effective risk management and improved project success exists., and whether the organisations that undertake risk management processes are able to achieve a better project success rate and, in the process, establish a link between the two. Literature suggests that an effective risk management system comprises of a four-step process which includes risk identification, risk assessment, risk response and overall control of risk. 6. CREDIT UNIONS: ANALYSIS OF THE DETERMINANT FACTOR OF THE CREDIT RISK

Abstract: The credit unions are institutions that make financial resources feasible to their members assuring them access to the tools of the financial market. In Brazil in 2017, there were 9.6 million members. Another relevant element has been the growth of the total assets, credit portfolio and deposits. This study has the goal to investigate the determinant factors of the credit risk of the Brazilian credit unions through the application of data model in an unbalanced scoreboard stimated by the analysis of the Ordinaty Least Squares. The sample corresponded to 799 Brazilian credit unions in the quarters between 06/2014 and 09/2018. As a result of the research the Efficiency in Cost Management, Total Assets, GPD and ROE variables presented statistical relevance as factors of the credit risk.

These bioethical issues have raised ethical questions related to the use of modern technology and how it may affect the future of society.
