3. DETERMINATION OF FACTORS AFFECTING ABRASION RESISTANCE TO GARMENTS CARE PERFORMANCE WITH COATED FABRICS

Authors: ADA TRAUMANN , DIANA TUULIK , MARIKA-MY LAID , MERJE BEILMANN

Abstract: The development of textile industry has been varied during last years. Fabrics are subjected to abrasion during their life cycle using different types of fibres, finishing agents added to fibres and/or fabrics, changing construction or thickness of fabrics or several other factors that can increase the mechanical properties of fabrics. In this study, the properties of brand new filament fabrics have been compared to finished garments` fabrics after different maintenance possibilities. The Martindale tester is used according to standard EN ISO 12947 [1]. For assessment, the specimen is examined at suitable intervals to see whether two threads have broken, while recording the number of cycles. The abrasion resistance is only one of several factors contributing to wear performance or durability of fabrics. The inherent mechanical properties of fibres are important, elastic recovery of fibres or high elongation, hence a high degree of quality. Longer fibres indicate better abrasion resista

4. WHY DO MANAGEMENT INNOVATIONS FAIL? THE IMPACT OF MANAGEMENT FRAME ON INNOVATION IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS

Authors: TAKUMA KIMURA

Abstract: Organization theorists and researchers have assumed that management innovation is one of the sustainable sources of competitive advantage. In addition, previous studies have emphasized the significance of an implementation climate and an innovation–values fit that are suitable for effective innovation implementation. This study analyzes a case of human resource management (HRM) innovation in a Japanese firm. The findings suggest that targeted users’ HRM frames, which have been developed based on their experiences of previous and current HRM practices, influence their sensemaking of the new practice, and thus affect HRM innovation implementation. Moreover, the findings indicate that congruence between the HRM frames of innovators and targeted users is important for effective implementation of HRM innovations. These findings could also be applied to management innovation in general.

Authors: ILUMINADA FUERTES , INMACULADA JIMENO , J. DAVID CABEDO , JOSE MIGUEL TIRADO , MARIA AMPARO MASET-LLAUDES

Abstract: Within the Spanish legislation, the requirements for information disclosure depend on the kind of organization. Most of Spanish Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) work as charitable foundations (a legal categorization of non-profit organizations), organizations where we focus on. In this paper we analyse the requirements that Spanish law establishes for the disclosure of social impact information for charitable foundations. Social impact is, probably, the best benchmark to measure the performance of this kind of non-profit organizations. There must be underlined that Spain is divided into several regions (known as “Autonomias”), and some of these regions have specific rules for charitable foundations. Therefore, depending on the region where a NGO (foundation) is settled on, the requirements for information disclosure can vary. In this paper we compare the different requirements that regions establish for their NGOs (charitable foundations) in the field of disclosure of information

Annual data gathered for the period from 1978 to 2014 and forecasted data for the period from 2015 to 2016 were used for the study. Data were analyzed using E-Views. Augmented Dickey-Fuller is used for unit root test, while Engle–Granger is used for co-integration, whereas Granger causality test was employed to find the causal relationships. The empirical evidence shows that there is a statistically significant and positive relationship between tourism recei

Authors: FABIO LOTTI OLIVA , PEDRO TEBERGA

Abstract: The volatility of technological innovation showcases the need for close risk control processes as a means to ensure viability in the process of launching new tech onto the Brazilian market by startups. The purpose of this work is to present a conceptual framework for the management of such risks, aiming at providing guidelines for the improvement of such process based mainly on the NPVR approach. The methodology relied on four comparative case studies that had their data collected via documents provided by the organizations and interviews with their main managers. The data analysis followed the model in [1], which allowed the condensation and data visualization; and drawing conclusions. Among the main results, there is the proposition of a deductive-inductive matrix for the management of risks and uncertainties in startups, which brings elements that provide the calculation of the net present value adjusted to the risk of developing a new product as well as a contribution to the level
