Authors: SUPA PANUSBORDEE , SANPET PANUSBORDEE

Abstract: The purposes of this research were to measure and compare the service quality perceptions of Thai and foreign budget airlines that were affected by country image. Four hundred and twenty seven questionnaires were answered by customers in Bangkok. Statistical instruments such as mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-Way-ANOVA with the significant level at 0.05 were selected to complete the process of data analysis. The results revealed that the highest service quality ranking was the airlines from the Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia and China respectively. However, the service quality of these airlines was not significantly different in hypothesis test. Also the study found that the service quality of the budget airlines for Thailand and foreign countries had no significant differences either.

Authors: HO-YIN YUE , PO-TAN LAU , TAK-CHING LAU

Abstract: An usual method for policy makers to control inflation is manipulating interest rates. This study checks the effectiveness of using interest rates as a method to control the inflation by studying the relation between interest rate and perceived inflation. 200 undergraduate students were invited in an experiment. Our findings show there is no main effects for bank interest rate and actual inflation rate on perceived inflation. However, a significant interaction effect was found between bank interest rate, personal income and actual inflation rate on perceived inflation.

3. A SELF-ORGANIZATION PERSPECTIVE OF NON-COOPERATIVE SUBJECT BEHAVIOR LEADING TO FATAL SHOOTING BY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Authors: TAK-CHING LAU

Abstract: Non-cooperative subject behavior leading to fatal shooting by law enforcement officers is discussed from the perspective of self-organizing systems. To this end, non-cooperative subject behavior is understood in terms of attentional blindness and functional fixedness as predicted by a mathematical model for self-organized human behavior proposed earlier by Frank (Nonlinear Dynamics, Psychology, and Life Sciences, 2015, 19, 111-146). Importantly, the same kind of model is applied to understand fatal shootings of non-cooperative subjects by law enforcement officers. It is argued and demonstrated by simulation studies that when the mechanism of fixedness acts both on subjects and law enforcement officers, tragic incidences of fatal shootings are likely to occur.

Authors: TOHIRIN, AK.

Abstract: This study was conducted to identify the problem of implementing government accrual accounting system in the first year. The case study was conducted in Indonesia when Indonesia prepared government financial reporting based on accrual accounting in 2015. Indonesia government changed the accounting system and financial reporting from the old system, cash toward accrual basis, to the new system, accrual accounting basis, in 2015 to comply the regulation. Implementing a new system in government financial reporting system created a big problem. Indonesia was a country that had some accounting units which were about 24.000 accounting units. It was thought that the problem could be solved by designing good government policies and good action. Government stakeholder doubted whether Indonesia succeeded in implementing accrual basis for government financial reporting in the first year. Some experts predicted that the quality of government accounting became worse. The opinion of financial report

8. DIAGNOSIS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRITS AMONG RESTAURATEURS IN MALAYSIA: AN EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE USING STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELLING

Authors: MAT SALLEH AYUB , MAZALAN MIFLI

Abstract: Managing product innovations that hold future success in today’s competitive and dynamic global markets reflects on the firm’s domains of entrepreneurship man oeuvres. This research diagnoses the entrepreneurial spirits of restaurateurs in Malaysia by examining their entrepreneurial orientations (EOs) when engaging into new product innovation. The results of the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) indicated that ‘the spirit of risk-taking’- one of the nine-domain of EOs that were based upon in this study (Salavou and Lioukas, 2003) – appeared to be unfounded. The eight-domain of EOs was then structured into two-dimensional construct model, and subsequently, tested of its model fit indexes using a covariance-based structural equation modelling (AMOS). The implication of these findings is discussed along with the limitations and future direction of this study.

Authors: HASMAH ZANUDDIN , NURUL HIDAYAH

Abstract: Social media is the most effective medium of communication bilaterally over online. Facebook is a platform of choice for a variety of purposes such as communication with family and friends, developing or establishing business and spreading the influence of ideology to attract more followers. Two-way communication in social media is able to effectively promote information sharing, but if the sharing involves non authentic or misinformation disseminated widely, it may create unhealthy situation and potentially threaten the public order. This quantitative content analysis study investigated the influence and relevance of information sources on the distribution of public opinion through the comments on each Facebook’s post studied using sentiment analysis API webtools. Through sentiment analysis software, sentiment for each comment on the selected Facebook sentiment polarity of the postings will be categorized into positive, negative and neutral sentiment. There were 4 parameters measured
