2. INVESTIGATING THE ASYMMETRIC EFFECTS OF WEBSITE QUALITY ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND TRUST: AN APPLICATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM SUCCESS MODEL

Authors: CHIA-LIN HSU , KUO-CHIEN CHANG , MU-CHEN CHEN , NIEN-TE KUO

Abstract: This study applies the information system success model to analyze the website quality of a restaurant (the website of T.G.I. Friday’s as the research case). Website quality was analyzed according to three dimensions: information quality, system quality, and service quality. Customer perceptions related to losses and gains due to website quality were assessed to determine whether such perceptions have an asymmetric effect on customer satisfaction and trust. Our results indicate that a negative asymmetric effect does exist. Perceived losses have a disproportionate effect on customer satisfaction and trust. In other words, perceived losses related to the system quality of the website have a significantly greater impact than perceived gains on customer satisfaction and trust. Thus, both obtaining positive asymmetric effects and minimizing the negative asymmetric effects are important concerns for website operators in the management of commercial websites

15. TOWARDS QUICK RESPONSE AND SECURE ONLINE BANKING TRANSACTIONS USING DATA COMPRESSION AND CRYPTOGRAPHY

Authors: ASADULLAH SHAH , NUHA ABDULLAH ZAMMARAH

Abstract: Online banking transactions have become one of the common daily tasks. Security is very important to accomplish these tasks. There are a lot of frauds and threats for online banking transactions that need to be studied, discovered and come out with the proposal of suitable solutions. It has been found that the main problem is in the connection channel between the end-user and the bank. Data compression and cryptography are integrated to be used for securing the online banking transactions efficiently. The two processes have different priorities. Security is the first priority for cryptography while decreasing the file size is thefirst priority for compression. This paper is going to review and address the current issues involving the online banking security by introducing the new Quick And Secure (QAS) process that has impacted and accelerated the online banking transactions and set the bar high for a new frontier encryption algorithm.

16. DIFFERENT SOFTWARE SECURITY REQUIREMENTS IN ENGINEERING

Authors: ABHIMANYU KUMAR , NEERAJ RAJ PAL , PRIYANKA DABRAL , RANA PRATAP , SARIKA GUPTA

Abstract: The goal of the software security requirements is to build better, defect-free software. But most requirements engineers are poorly trained to elicit, analyze, and specify security requirements, often confusing them with the architectural security mechanisms that are traditionally used to fulfill them. They thus end up specifying architecture and design constraints rather than true security requirements. This paper defines the basic of the security requirements and assets and threats in detail. And at last define the different types of security requirements as proposed by Firesmith [1] and provides associated examples and guildlines with the intent of enabling requirements engineers to adequately specify security requirements without unnecessarily constraining the security and architecture teams from using the most appropriate security mechanisms for the job.

Authors: ANUBHAV MITTAL , SARIKA GUPTA , VIPIN SHARMA

Abstract: Cloud computing is an alternative way of using Information Technology (IT). These reasons may well change the role of IT in the near future, and some of IT’s traditional service delivery models and organizational structures will need to be changed to accommodate the power of computing that can be easily deployed through cloud computing. The practice of computing across two or more data center separated by Internet gaining popularity due to the explosion in scalability and low cost issue. That is further optimized by connecting more than one cloud provider to make the system more flexible. In communication network itis called multi-cloud deployment, where resource scheduling is the key process. The management of globally connected service provider is very much difficult for minimizing the cost. To address this problem we propose an Agent Based Effective Scheduling method for dynamic assignment of service request to Cloud Service Provider (CSP). Taking the security issue, we are also try

Authors: M. J. E. SALAMI , R. AKMELIAWATI , W. ASTUTI , W. SEDIONO

Abstract: The ability of the signal processing techniques to predict earthquakes may help to reduce the catastrophic effect of the earthquake. The earth\'s electric field signal is one of the features that can be used to predict the earthquakes (EQs) by analyzing the changes in its characteristic prior the earthquake. The signal is extracted using extended Linear Predictive Coding (LPC). This approach is based on the projection of the excitation signal on the right eigenvectors impulse response of the LPC filter. The resulting projected value is weighted by corresponding singular value, leading to an approximate sum of exponentially damped sinusoids (EDS). The extracted vector is used as input of the prediction system in order to determine the location of the incoming earthquake. Support vector machines (SVMs) method is applied as classification technique. The basic idea of SVMs is mapping non-linear training data into higher-dimensional feature space through the kernel function. This paper pres

Authors: ALEXANDER ADAM , KAMOL LIMTANYAKUL , PINAET PHOONSARAKUN , WOLFGANG BENN

Abstract: Current databases use many different protocols to communicate with their clients. Applications running on that communication protocols have to implement support for each of them. In this paper, we propose an abstraction layer, that enables an application to be applicable to many database protocols, such as the database protocol TNS for Oracle database, TDS for Microsoft SQL Server, DRDA for IBM DB2, and so on, using only one abstract interface. On this layer, there will be various primary abstract functions that database protocol applications can customize or integrate them for their own particular purposes, such as SQL rewrite, analysis, timing, result set cache, direct generation of result sets, intrusion detection, etc. The aim of this paper is to develop and propose this abstraction layer. Finally we show some examples of applications utilizing the proposed abstraction layer, they are able not only to perform SQL rewrite and timing, but also support the database protocol TNS, TDS,

Authors: ALOKE KUMER SAHA , BINDU RANI DAS , KHANDKER TAFIQUL ISLAM , MD ASHRAFUJJAMAN MONDAL , SHEIKH MUHAMMAD SARWAR , SOFURA AKHTER

Abstract: In this paper, a novel and efficient data structure named as ‘Augmented Trie’ has been proposed that can store a large collection of English words and search them efficiently. The data structure has been specially designed in a way to facilitate the search for strings with wildcard characters. Even though the memory requirement for constructing ‘Augmented Trie’ is higher than simple trie, it does not become significant as memory allocation has been performed intelligently using bit masking. By experimental results we show that the proposed method of finding patterns with wildcard characters improves over the existing one by 13.5% (maximum).

Authors: ATHITAYA NITCHOT , GARY B WILLS , LESTER GILBERT

Abstract: Existing structures of knowledge and competencies within eLearning systems may involve the risk of misunderstanding and do not consider a proficiency level. We describe the method of constructing a competence structure from learning outcomes. This method involves the task analysis of subject matters and the parent-child relationship assigning. In addition to this, a competence-based system for recommending study materials is proposed. The competence structure is considered within the process of dealing with learner competences and how the system generates the choices of learning paths in suggesting study materials links. Experiments were conducted to compare the generated learning paths. The results show that learners may have felt more satisfied in achieving their desired learning outcomes when more competence nodes are consideredwithin a learning path. However, an appropriate learning path may vary according to the size of the competence structure and the chosen competences.

Authors: MAKOTO SATO , NAPHAT RATTANATHAWORNKITI , TEERASITKASETKASEM , THITIPORN CHANWIMALUANG

Abstract: This paper proposes a new desktop virtual reality system that uses only a single camera to track and calculate the distance between a viewer’s eyes and the camera in order to produce proper viewing images. The system estimates a distance between the eyes and the camera by measuring the distance between irises of left and right eyes. The system has the initial step to calibrate distance between left and right irises of the viewer and use these irises as the reference points to find the distance between the eyes and the screen. However, since this system uses only two eyes, it cannot cope with the rotation on the axes parallel to the camera. The FaceAPIlibrary [1] is employed as the orientation estimator since the FaceAPI uses the sophisticating image processing algorithm to detect and measure human face orientation and distance with respect to the camera. However, since not all human faces have equal size, the estimated distance between a human face and camera from the FaceAPI library i

Abstract: In this paper an approach is proposed to derive an optimal layout of a Bengali Virtual Keyboard and hence forth seeking the desirable placement of all the keys in that layout within the constraints of space and the key size, thereby seeking to improve the text entry rate for an individual with normal human perception abilities. The approach is partly segmented in identifying the initial layout to work with, obtained through a design space exploration technique, which essentially forms an input to the Optimal Letter Arrangement algorithm. The algorithm involves a pool of keyboards to start with for each of which the theoreticaltext entry rate is evaluated based on Fitts’ hand movement law as the fitness function. The fit keyboards make a hop to the next generation after which they go through a randomization phase in letter arrangement and subsequent fitness evaluation. The unfit keyboards inherit a known layout and make the subsequent hop. A keyboard stops the procedure the moment its t
